Kids Pastor
Children are not the church of tomorrow...they are the church of today.
Our children are active participants in the church community and not just future members. We offer age appropriate Biblical curriculum in each class so your children understand God’s love and rescue plan.
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these" (Luke 18:16-17).
Our kid’s ministry is passionate about teaching children how to Connect 2 God + Care 4 All!
We are S.A.F.E.
S- Safe: All rooms are child safety approved and are monitored by security cameras, background checked adults, and we limit access with a trained safety team. The volunteer kids team have a heart for kids, have passed a background check, and have successfully completed an application process.
A-Accepting: We love children and ALL families are accepted at HCV and we embrace everyone's differences. We want everyone to feel welcome and connected.
F- FUN: We believe God is fun! We create an atmosphere where children can have fun while learning practical bible lessons.
E-Engaging: We believe kids learn by doing “the stuff” all children participate in prayer, worship, bible lessons, and community building activities!
1. Drop Off/Pick Up – Responsible adult must check all children in on the iPads and put the printed stickers on the child and the check in sheet located in their classroom.
2. Video and Audio Recording – All classrooms, hallways, check in locations, and common areas are equipped with cameras that record video and audio.
3. Background Checks – All classrooms are staffed by background checked adults or when a youth is the lead teacher one background checked adult is present.
4. Restroom/Diaper Policy – The responsible adult will be paged for any diaper changes or bathroom assistance beyond hand washing or help getting dressed after using the restroom. Our volunteers and safety will escort elementary children to the restroom and escort them back to class.
5. Secure Space – Only responsible adults dropping off or picking up a child are allowed past the check in area, The entrance area is staffed by the safety team.
6. First Aid/Injuries – Responsible adults will be notified upon pickup for any minor scrapes or bruises. For anything more serious, responsible adults will be notified immediately through text and the auditorium screen.
7. Discipline/Incidents – Teachers will attempt to redirect or calm a child verbally. If this is not successful, the child will be directed to a “calm down” space in the classroom. If the behavior persists responsible adults will be notified immediately through text message and the auditorium screen.
8. Food/Snacks – Classrooms provide water and Goldfish crackers to all children every week. Gluten free Pirate’s Booty snacks or fruit are available for children with dietary restrictions. K-5 classrooms may occasionally provide special snacks related to the lesson.
